Having really enjoyed Just for the Summer by Jimenez I came into this title with expectations that weren’t met. I enjoyed the first half of Yours Truly but the events in the second half began to seem over-the-top, out of place, ill-timed, and had me doubting the direction the plot was headed for. There are a handful of events that come across as forced and clunky in the interest of driving the plot. The miscommunication and lack of communication tropes are ubiquitous in the romance genre, but this title served up a portion of these tropes that was too much for my liking. There’s another trope in here that I disliked, it felt unnecessary and poorly handled. I won’t mention it here because it would lead to an immediate spoiler- just in case you want to read this title to experience firsthand the wastage of your time.
